    Rosalia Schools Parents/Staff:

Whitman County has been moved from Phase 3 back to Phase 2 as of April 16th, due to COVID cases in our county, primarily coming out of Pullman.  This will have little impact on how we are able to operate our extra-curricular activities/sports at this time, since our Season 2 sports (golf, track, and softball) are all outdoor sports.   The next evaluation to change phases will be May 3rd.  We are hopeful that we can move back in to Phase 3  by then, so that our Season 3 sports (High School basketball, Middle School Volleyball) will be able to have competitions with other schools, and so that we can conduct assemblies, concerts, and graduation exercises how we hope to have them.  Under Phase 2, the following is allowed:

indoor:  low and moderate risk competitions are permitted

outdoor:  low, moderate and high risk competitions are permitted, but we are limited to 200 or less spectators (this should not be a problem)

Attached you will find more information that comes from the Healthy Washington agency that manages the COVID Phase Matrix.  Please review for your own information.  It has information on what is allowed in each of the phases.  If you have any questions or need clarification, please email me back or call the school office.  As more information/restrictions are released from our Health Department and the State, I will keep you informed of those changes.  I know this has not been an easy time, but we will continue to make the most of it.  We appreciate your support and encouragement.

    Sincerely,

    Mr. McLain, Rosalia Schools
