• Emergency School Closure Information

    In the event of an emergency or snow closure, Rosalia staff will make sure that all parents, guardians or other identified individuals are notified. It is VERY IMPORTANT that you keep the school office updated whenever there are changes to your home, cell, or work phone numbers.

    Winter Emergency Notices

    Winter weather brings with it the possibility of late starts or school cancellations. In the case of a storm, the administration will make a decision on school start time no later than 6:00 am. If a late start or school closure is a possibility, the following will apply:

    TWO-HOUR LATE START: This will usually be our first option. Our School Messenger phone system will call/text all phone numbers associated with each family with the "Late Start" message.

    • All buses will run two-hours later than their regularly scheduled times.
    • School will start at 10:15 a.m.
    • No morning preschool.
    • No before school activities.
    • No breakfast will be served.

    TWO-HOUR LATE START USING EMERGENCY ROUTES ONLY:  Our School Messenger phone system will call/text all phone numbers associated with each family with the following message.

    • The Oakesdale bus will pick up students at the Fire Station at 9:30 am and along Hwy 271 and drop them off there after school.
    • The Malden bus will pick up students at the Fire Station at 9:45 am and drop them off there after school.
    • The Thornton bus will pick up students at the Fire Station at 9:45 am and drop them off there after school.
    • Lora's Bus Route (our North Route) will not run.
    • There will be no in-town Rosalia bus service, except to and from the Footprints Day Care.
    • There will be no AM or PM preschool classes.
    • There will be no before school activities.
    • Breakfast will not be served.

    SCHOOL WILL BE CANCELLED FOR THE DAY. After calling a late start and the weather persists, the administrative team will make the decision no later than 8:30 am to cancel school. Our School Messenger phone system will again make phone calls/texts to each family.

    • Rosalia School District will be closed today.
    • All before and after school activities are cancelled.
